SPRINGTIME

Now it is spring time, flowers coming into bloom, the buds appearing on the trees ready to become leaves and of course the weather getting warmer. We can liken this process of creation to the emergence of new ideas; new desires ready to be fulfilled. There is no thought in the process of creation and as part of our daily routines we need to include activities which do not require the activity of thinking thus allowing the same process of creation within ourselves to do its work healing and refreshing our bodies, processing of all the input to our senses including memorising and recall, unimpeded by thought. There are many such activities like sensing and awareness exercises; going for a walk along the canal or in the park during which we can begin to really appreciate the miracle of creation unveiling itself for us thus enhancing our enjoyment of being alive. You might surprise yourselves to discover how much of your daily routines can be done without any thinking at all as you learn to listen to your thinking which we have been indoctrinated to believe is necessary to do anything. Of course there are many desires that cannot be achieved without the activity of thinking in which case it needs to be remembered that there are a set of muscles involved in that activity and practice improves performance
At the beginning of each year we decide on a plan for the year; new desires and new ways of fulfilling those desires are explored. The emphasis should be put on maximising our enjoyment of Being Alive by making sure that you are doing something you really want to do and compiling an action list, as necessary, to put those ideas into practice. It is not being able to fulfil a chosen desire that can cause problems, if you allow it to. Just accept that at this time you are unable to fulfil a specific desire and choose another desire that you can fulfil and remember whilst fulfilling one desire you are also fulfilling others at the same time. This will apply whether the fulfilment of your chosen desire requires thinking or not.
